for those who don't know i've been 'inactive' for around one year.
i stopped attending meetings late last year.
all during this time i was working on my wife (known on this board as amber rose), helping her see the problems with the watchtower.

The main point, and, I have been telling this to folks for a while:
You controlled the conversation by controlling the question.
Three rules for interacting with JWs:
Whomever controls the question controls all.
Do not ask a question that you do not know the answer to, in full.
If you loose control of the question, stop. Another time....

witnesses invite all to "follow the christ".
The Mormans are doing the same thing: focusing on a Christ centered message.

i was looking over some of the archives in "the best of" section of jwd and found some very important quotes of the watchtower that may be of use to all.
keep in mind the warning in galations 1: 6-9 .
6 i marvel that you are being so quickly removed from the one who called you with christs undeserved kindness over to another sort of good news.

i realize how many people are sent to "limbo" of sorts by the wts.
how many jws quit going, inactive, no meetings for "years," wasn't happy with it but are still "stuck" somewhere in between, not active jws, feeling condemned by the organization yet still don't stretch themselves to "read" anything to investigate why the organization didn't work for them.
my brother got a call from an inactive jw, who hasn't gone in years & not in the association of anyone anyway, not happy with jwdom.
This is my observation: If anyone thinks I am wrong.....please, let me know.
There are a percentage of people that have exited that turn around and go back in.
Another percentage really "taste the apple." They go for the gusto and really, really indulge in the ice cream and chocolate of Life....heavy on the whipped cream....we will worry about weight gain and health risks, later....
The smallest percent become Christians: these are the coolest of the Christians I have met.
The majority go into a type of spiritual coma: they are spirtually frozen in time: no progress, fear of :"another angle" in looking at things, locked into this self made prison......

i'd just like to get an idea of how many of you there are.

Baptized July 23 of '03.
Anglican by default: love the evangilsm and literagy. Eastern Orthodox: best explanation of what is involved in this deal we call "salvation." Complete rejection of anything comming out of the reformation. I have issues with Rome.....

i've got my issues like everybody else.

you know how when you explain how it was being a jw to people who haven't been jw's before sometimes they just don't get it?.
well good friend ( that i made on the outside ) we had a heart to heart.
she told me that she knew before i even told her that i was a jw.
Another wierd thing is this:
Folks that are Not in/Not out....just borderline, but, know the WT is whacked: they STILL view someone that has made a clean break as an APOSTATE!
And, they view you with supreme suspicion.
This has been an odd experience for me.

for me, the support of this site was invaluable as i had had years of couped up emotions.
always being told that if you are sporitually weak, it is your fault.
i actually swallowed it and tried to be a good jw.
Interacting with ex JWs on the phone and face to face: BRCI ministries.
Accepting the invitation of the Good News: Baptism and a celebration of the Lord's Meal.
Becomming involved with a Group of Believers even though I was very uncomfortable.
Posting on an ex JW board: Channel C on Beacon Light till I was disfellowshipped from that board....

God feels like you do when you have been watching someone for a while that you find really facinating, they do not know you, and you are looking forward to meeting them.

continue following me john 21:19. much of the program was similar to the previous two days.
the fact that jesus has appeared in almost every talk title suggests that the society is once again morphing its tactics to persuade more persons that they arent an old testament cult but an alternative christian denomination.. i repeat my previous assertion that there is a manipulative intelligence at work here.
no ordinary person could possible have such foresight and such knowledge of human behavior to think and write the things these watchtower writers do.

I HATED the DCs. We were always struggling, financially and health wise, and would, each year, go in the hole and it would taked months to recover. Way over crowded bathrooms, trying to cheer up our kids, dealing with the chronic, life threatning situation of our oldest daughter, trying to "get by" by going the cheap on meals...trying to cook in hotel rooms, worrying about gas money, on and on and on.....
One year, we went to Tulsa and maxed a credit card. We ate out, stayed in a nice hotel, maxed the whole deal. Had a great time. OK....so THIS is why the bros with money do not mind the conventions....see it now.....
Then, a couple of years paying back the card.
So much for that fun time.
Appreciate your sacrifice of time and effort.
Glad I was not there.
